Do you shout when you pray?

the activated christian
Why do we shout when we pray? Do we not know that the only place recorded where people shouted to their god, is the confrontation between Elijah and the prophets of Baal?

Elijah appears at the palace, declares that it won’t rain until he (Elijah) says so, then disappears,( where he goes is a story for another day). After three and a half years, he appears with a dare. The prophets of Baal and Elijah will have a demonstration. A demonstration to help the Israelis choose which God is deserving of their worship. Each side will sacrifice a bull but they are to ask their respective deity to provide the fire to consume the sacrifice.

Baal’s prophets shout the whole day as Elijah derides and mocks them. “Your god may be asleep; shout harder to wake him up, maybe he is thinking…” They shout and cry out but nothing happens.
When it’s Elijah’s turn, he utters only a simple prayer, God responds and consumes the sacrifices. Later that evening it rains.
So why are you shouting when you pray? Did the Lord go for lunch or is He asleep? Maybe He is too far? Do you shout because you are not sure He can hear you? Are you angry with Him or scolding Him? Friend, why are you shouting when talking to God?
